What's For Dessert: Frosted Cinnamon & Sugar Bread Sticks

You know those yummy cinnamon sugar treats that you can get at pizza buffets?  I have come up with a simple way that you can make them at home.  The perfect and sweet ending to your family pizza night.

Ingredients:

  • Enough pizza dough for a pizza (I use about 1 1/2)
  • 1 cup sugar (more or less depending on taste)
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • sprinkle of salt
Steps:

Spread the pizza dough out onto a greased pizza pan.

Melt the butter.

With a brush, liberally apply butter to the top of the dough.

Mix the cinnamon and the sugar.

Sprinkle the butter with half of the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Brush the cinnamon sugar layer with another layer of butter, topped with the other half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Sprinkle with salt.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes.

Slice immediately.

To make the icing:

Whip 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter.

Mix 3 tablespoons of milk

Slowly add 1 cup powdered sugar.

Drizzle over cinnamon sugar sticks.

What a treat!
